Back on the road again to visit the family lake house in Minocqua, WI. There are 21 people staying here this 4th and I was the last to arrive, safe to say I did NOT get first pick where my tent was set up.
We have a tradition of everyone in the immediate family making the trek up to the lake house on the 4th as its the easiest holiday to get off without obligations to spouses families. Our siblings travel from as far away as Denver, Santa Cruz, Seattle(me), Memphis, Chicago and Duluth. I cant express enough how much I love this place but its been hard to get here the past 2 years so Im not sure how much longer Ill be making the trip every summer.
This year was especially important as its our parents 25th anniversary and when they brought this unruly group together. To commemorate the lake house and their anniversary, the siblings gifted the parents a photo book of all the memories up until last year. Needless to say, it was a hit and turned out really well.
